3HO Men's Camp 2018 - Exchange Opportunities

3HO Men’s Camp is an international yoga retreat for men that is held in the Vancouver area each year. The 2018 camp will take place in Maple Ridge (approximately one hour from Vancouver) from August 7-12.

We’re looking for men to step into leadership roles for both the preparation and the running of 3HO Men's Camp. We're currently accepting applications for the following roles:

  • Marketing Coordinator
  • Head Chef
  • Kitchen Support
  • Sound System Operator

Marketing Coordinator


The Marketing Coordinator will take a leadership role in the marketing of 3HO Men's Camp. This includes regularly posting captivating content on social media, sending regular emails to the 3HO Men’s Camp Mailing List and coordinating the marketing of 3HO Men’s Camp through other networks.

Kitchen Support

Partial Exchange

Kitchen support staff works with the cooks to keep the kitchen running smoothly. They are responsible for cleaning, preparing and serving food. They will often be required to miss or leave classes early to start preparing for meals. Kitchen experience an asset, but not a requirement. You must be available to help setup and close down kitchen, and will likely be one of the last people to leave camp on August 12.

Sound System OPERATOR


To qualify for this position you must have previous experience setting up, running and troubleshooting a LIVE sound rig for multiple musicians and instruments. Your responsibilities include:

  • Being in charge of the sound mix (mics and iPod) for all classes, workshop, sadhana and gurdwara programs. 
  • Helping to set up the sound system, mics and cables before the camp begins on August 7.
  • Some audio recording.

The "Sound Guy" is always "on". You must be attentive to each teacher's requirements and the space they create, setting up the appropriate levels/fx etc. and often setting up mics on the fly.

Setup/Breakdown LEADER


As the Setup/Breakdown leader you'll be responsible for coordinating the setup of 3HO Men's Camp, the cleanup in preparation for Khalsa Ladies Camp (August 15-19) and the breakdown of the camp following Khalsa Ladies Camp.

This exchange position requires a commitment to be available before 3HO Men's Camp begins, including:

  • Attending video-conferenced planning meetings.
  • Picking up last-minute items.
  • Supervising the load-in and setup of stages, gurdwara gazebo and general decorations.

After 3HO Men's Camp, some cleanup is required to help transition to Khalsa Ladies Camp. After Khalsa Ladies Camp is complete you'll be required to return to Camp Whonnock and help breakdown the camp, returning it to "pre-camp" conditions.

Before leaving the camp on August 19, you will be responsible for going around the camp with the Camp Manager to ensure all items on Camp Whonnock's checklist have been completed to the Camp Manager's satisfaction. You will likely be one of the last to leave.

Some heavy lifting required, so you must be in good physical condition. It's recommended that you have your own vehicle.
